Allison Gibson

Allison is a patent engineer at Pauly, DeVries Smith, & Deffner, LLC where she specializes in patent prosecution in the mechanical arts. While working on her master’s degree at the University of Michigan, Allison discovered a passion for being in the forefront of innovation, which led her to pursue a career in intellectual property.

Allison’s graduate research focused on using optical techniques to observe phenomena imperceptible to the human eye. This ranged from analyzing combustion inside of an engine using the spectral signature of earth elements to reconstructing the three-dimensional surface of the human iris with plenoptic imaging. Allison has additional experience working for a consumer products company doing design work and for the Department of Defense running computational fluid dynamics simulations.
